Western Australia Gourmet Escape presented by Westpac returns to the Margaret River region, Perth and Rottnest Island (brand new for 2020) from 16-22 November 2020.

While travel is currently restricted both in and out of Western Australia and the Margaret River region, that doesn’t mean you can’t start planning today. We’ll continue to monitor the Coronavirus situation, take advice from the Department of Health and provide Q&A updates, news/event stories and ‘at home’ culinary inspiration on our blog.

In what has been an incredibly difficult year for local businesses and in light of the ongoing COVID-19 response, the 2020 Gourmet Escape program will launch with a focus on the ‘Best of the West’ Australian food, wine and entertainment.

Gourmet Escape will once again transform Western Australia into an epicurean hub of culinary delights; where world-class and celebrity chefs meet the finest Australian produce, award-winning wine flights and one-of-a-kind fun ‘foodie’ delights.

We invite all Western Australians to band together with us in supporting local businesses, both right now through #TakeawayForWA and in November 2020, as part of our Gourmet Escape program.

Is Western Australia Gourmet Escape still going ahead in 2020 or has it been cancelled/postponed due to Coronavirus?

At this stage (April 2020), Gourmet Escape is scheduled to go ahead as planned from 16-22 November 2020.

The health and safety of our attendees, partners and staff remains our top priority and as such, we will be sure to let you know if our plans change.

In the meantime, we wanted to shine a light on the ways our community can continue to support the region’s amazing restaurants, cafes, bars, pubs and wineries during these unprecedented times. Find out more about #TakeawayForWA.

What can I do to support local Westren Australian businesses during the Coronavirus lockdown?

With critical isolation and lockdown measures now in place to stop the spread of Coronavirus, Western Australia’s bars, restaurants, cafes, pubs and wineries are facing a time of unprecedented struggle.

Many of the venues being affected are local businesses; businesses run by families and individuals, who can no longer afford to pay their staff or make ends meet.

Together, we can make a difference. YOU can make a difference, simply by ordering direct from local restaurants, buying a voucher and sharing #TakeawayForWA to support the hospitality industry. Find out more about this initiative or see our list of Western Australian restaurants and cafés offering takeaway and delivery.
