Located in the immaculately-kept grounds of Leeuwin Estate Winery, the Gourmet Village lies at the heart of what makes Gourmet Escape such a compelling event for food and wine lovers alike. Over the weekend of Saturday 18 & Sunday 19 Nov (11am-6pm), Leeuwin Estate echoed to the sound of festival-goers having a damned fine time!
Main Stage hosted by comedian Matt Okine was revitalized in 2017, with cooking demonstrations, mystery box challenges and music from resident DJ, Greg Sara, as well as special guests Hugo Gruzman (Flight Facilities, Future Classic) and Tom Tilley (Triple J).
Celebrating the 50th anniversary of the Margaret River Wine Region, the Gourmet Village hosted more wine attractions than ever before including the new and free to attend Masters & Makers feature hosted by legendary local sommeliers Emma Farrelly and Dan Wegener who presented laid back chats and wine tastings with the best of the Gourmet Village winemakers.
New to the Village this year was very intimate The World’s Best Chefs Table. Guest were given the opportunity to sit up close and personal with their favourite chef idols including Andre Chiang, Ana Ros, Alex Atala, David Thompson, May Chow, Ashley Palmer Watts, Rodolfo Guzman. After the chefs demonstrated one of their signature dishes, guests were served the dish which was accompanied by a glass of Snake & Herring wine.
