With over 2,000 different varieties of cheese around the world you are bound to find something that you like. Whether you are from the striking Italy grating parmesan on your perfectly Al dente Pappardelle or feasting on the Greek islands surrounded by clear, blue waters and a delicious Greek salad with feta cheese, there is definitely something for everyone.

Margaret River has its own established culture with the versatile good that is cheese. This philosophy aligns with its status as being one of the most beautiful and scenic wine regions across Australia with the ability to produce exceptional wines. The pairing of wines and cheeses has been around for hundreds of years, and it is believed that the sharp taste of wine is balanced out by the fattiness of cheese. This perfect pairing is what builds the culture of cheese in the area.

The region is surrounded by an array of incredible local producers of cheese that offer a variety of different activities to heighten your knowledge of both cheese and it’s pairing with specific wines.

One of our favorites to visit whilst in Margaret River is Yallingup Cheese Company which is a local producer of hand crafted, organic artisan cheese made from locally certified, jersey milk. There offerings range from cheese tastings, bespoke cheese and charcuterie platters, cheese and wine pairing as well as exciting monthly cheese making classes.
