Magdalena Roze

FOOD WRITER, JOURNALIST AND CO-CREATOR

Biography

Magdalena Roze is an award-winning Journalist, Meteorologist, Food Writer, Cook Book author and co-creator of cult “chefs” spread “Oomite.” After completing a BA (Media and Communication), her career began in television working as a researcher and then producer for a number of programs including the Nine Network and BBC, before moving on screen. Magdalena worked as a Television Presenter and Meteorologist for over ten years presenting live television including co-hosting Network TenThe Project, covering two Olympic Games, reading news and weather on both breakfast and prime-time bulletins. Magdalena has reported nationwide on some of the biggest natural disasters in Australian history. During her time at The Weather Channel, Magdalena returned to university to complete a Graduate Diploma in Atmospheric Science.  

Passionate about food and cooking, she released her cook book Happy and Whole, based on her popular food and lifestyle website. She has been a food reviewer for guides including Sydney Morning Herald Good Food Guide and Delicious Magazine, and is the go-to MC for food events having interviewed the biggest names in the world including Nigella Lawson, Marco Pierre White and Heston Blumenthal. She also regularly performs her own cooking demonstrations at events including Regional Flavours and the Good Food Show. She is also the co-founder and host of food podcast, The Pass, interviewing some of the Australia’s top and up-and-coming chefs. The Pass was the number 1 food podcast on Australian itunes for 3 seasons, ahead of Jamie Oliver and BBC Food.
