Scott’s love for food began at an early age, watching and helping his mother bake. After completing a chef’s apprenticeship, Scott spent much of his early career crisscrossing the globe, working across London, Japan, the Middle East, around Europe, the Caribbean and more.
After returning to Perth, Scott became part of the opening team at Rockpool Bar & Grill as Sous Chef, and was later approached with an offer to be part of an exciting new project, helmed by elite sportsmen and foodies, Eamon Sullivan, Jamie Dwyer and Steve Hooker. Following the success of Bib & Tucker, the same owners embarked on their next joint venture, May Street Larder, opening in early 2015 in East Fremantle and at The Mezz in Mt Hawthorn in March 2019. Scott is also part owner and executive chef of an underground Japanese whiskey bar, Goody Twos, located in Hibernian Place, which opened in October 2018.
Across all his venues Scott’s menus offer a consistent food philosophy – keep it simple and create fun and flavoursome food with no compromise on quality or presentation. Utilising old techniques with his own modern twists, Scott’s food constantly delights both media and customers, even receiving praise from superstar chef Marco Pierre White who was quoted in The West Australian that his meal was “…the best chicken dish I’ve had in decades.”
Scott has become a popular guest chef and presenter at many foodie events including Gourmet Escape, Truffle Kerfuffle, Perth Royal Show, Gascoyne Food Festival and Taste of Perth. He is also a contributor to Channel Nine’s Our State on a Plate TV show, an ambassador for Lupin Foods, Electrolux and 5000 Meals and is the 2016 winner of the Etihad Airways Taste the World competition at Taste of Perth. Bib & Tucker has been named twice in the Top 20 restaurants of Western Australia by the WA Good Food Guide.
