I think Gourmet Escape is a world-class event because you’ve got 45 different events in 25 different locations within Margaret River and they are all just as picturesque as this place here at castle rock. You’ve got international chefs, you got the best of the Aussie chefs too, food, wine, great music. Its paradise. Why wouldn’t you want to be here.
“Over the years, I’ve seen some of my mentors, and people that I have always looked up to, have come to gourmet escape, out of any other festival around the world. I always had my goals set, that if I was ever going to do a festival, that this would be the one to join, especially when considering the produce, the location and the people who you would be cooking and rubbing shoulders with. That was always one of my huge goals. So when I got this random call whilst in LA from one of the organisers asking me to come along, I honestly could have done a backflip in the kitchen. It was a super amazing experience.”

Gourmet escape is special because of the caliber of talent that comes along, not just internationally but locally as well, I think it is a really beautiful combination of the two. And the produce makes it so easy to make delicious food that everybody leaves just enthralled.
